Knowledge is power. UCCs have access to more knowledge than ever before across three key data sets: - Payor transparency data, which allows you to see your contract terms with payors and know if you are being paid fairly compared to other local UCCs. - AMA claims data, which provides insights into competitors’ practices such as the number of visits and what diagnostic tests are they performing. - Distributor sales tracing data, which enables you to compare your supply pricing against the regional average, and finally answer that nagging question with certainty: “Am I getting a good price?”
Most importantly, these data can be synthesized to devise strategies to realize better medicine and better margins.
We have worked extensively with all these databases as part of our effort to learn about the urgent care industry. The insights we gained have helped us tremendously and made us a better partner for our customers. We want to share the key insights with all the operators at UCA - what’s actually achievable with these data; what are the limitations; how much do they typically cost; and whether it’s possible to access the information in a simple and low-cost way (spoiler: yes!).
Learning Objectives 1. learn the type of databases that are commercially available and relevant to UCC operation; 2. learn specific use cases that leverage the data to improve UCC business; 3. learn key insights and industry trends gleaned from the data.
