Healthcare activities contribute substantially to environmental emissions and degradation that harms human and planetary health. In the United States, health care is responsible for 8.5% of national greenhouse gas emissions. Climate change is already disrupting health systems’ abilities to deliver high-quality, continuous care. This session will discuss how health professionals can act to reduce this type of preventable harm to their patients, the public, and the planet and make this task fundamental to their mission.
