Elizabeth Westerby

I am a second-year medical student interested in health equity and social determinants of health. This interest started while working as a COVID-19 case investigator for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. In this role, I saw the difference in outcomes experienced by underserved populations and was motivated to bridge this gap through research and community outreach. My current projects include researching social predictors for follow-up care, establishing health literacy courses for residents in hospital-housing partnerships, and improving resource connection following social needs screenings at well-child visits.
