Melissa Rushing, BSMI, RTR

Radiology Supervisor
Atrium Health

Melissa Rushing has been with Atrium Health for 17 years, spending 7 years in Urgent Care and 3 years as Radiology Supervisor. In this role, she provides clinical support to RTRs and all clinical teammates, streamlines workflows, and collaborates on radiology equipment upgrades. One of her key achievements includes organizing 7 of Atrium Health’s 30 Greater Charlotte locations as clinical sites for 4 local colleges’ radiology programs, addressing the RTR shortage post-Covid. Melissa also led efforts to revamp the lab testing menu, improving cost-efficiency without compromising patient care. She is passionate about increasing radiology leadership in ambulatory care and healthcare organizations. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, and their 1-year-old chocolate lab, either traveling or relaxing at home.
