Jessica Higginbotham, PharmD, BCGP, BCCP serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services at American Family Care, the nation’s largest urgent care organization, with nearly 400 medical centers and 1,500 in-network providers caring for more than 4 million patients a year. Dr. Higginbotham is Board Certified in both Geriatrics and Cardiology and leads strategic goals across Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Clinical Research, and Quality. She joined AFC in 2019 with prior experience serving as a clinical pharmacist in emergency medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), in inpatient cardiology at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, and in ambulatory care at Lapointe Health Clinic at Fort Campbell (KY). With each position she has held, she has repeatedly expanded the scope and impact of clinical services furthering the clinical and operational performance of each organization for which she has served. Her ability to not only identify opportunities within the organization but to design, lead, and implement interventions to better serve the community and to promote high quality patient centered care has played a key role in her success. It is this commitment to continuous innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence that led to her being awarded the Mel Liter Clinical Pharmacy Award.
