As the Medical Director of AFC Urgent Care, a position I have held since 2014. Over the past decade, I have been deeply committed to advancing urgent care medicine through leadership, education, and protocol development.
As a member of the **Clinical Excellence Committee** at American Family Care—the nation’s largest urgent care organization—I have played an integral role in developing and standardizing protocols that ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care across multiple clinics. My contributions extend beyond clinical practice, as I have actively educated fellow providers through **lectures, training programs, and national presentations.
I have presented at the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians (KAFP) and American Family Care (AFC) conferences, sharing best practices and emerging guidelines in urgent care medicine. In June 2022, I delivered a lecture on Outpatient Treatment Guidelines for COVID-19 Patients at the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians. The protocol I developed was subsequently adopted by multiple clinics across Kansas, significantly enhancing outpatient management during the pandemic. https://kafponline.org/speakerdirectory
More recently, I presented on STI Diagnosis and Treatment in the Urgent Care Setting at KAFP, further contributing to the education of urgent care providers. Additionally, I have developed an Immigration Protocol for AFC clinics, which has created a new revenue stream for urgent care centers while ensuring compliance with immigration health requirements.
Currently, I am leading two major initiatives:
- The AFC Webinar Series – An educational platform providing evidence-based guidelines to AFC providers.
- The Medical Director 101 Training Program – A specialized training designed to equip urgent care medical directors with the leadership and management skills necessary for excellence in their roles.
My commitment to advancing urgent care medicine remains steadfast. Through protocol development, provider education, and clinical leadership, I look forward to continuing my contributions to this rapidly evolving field.
